Big Bear July 4th, 2011

We were fortunate to have been asked to go to Big Bear for the 4th of July weekend. I did not care for the ride up, was getting car sick and nervous. Nervous, because Steve didn't check if we had enough gas to get up, I asked him after we started the trek up the mountain and we had a little less than 1/4 tank. There was a gas station at the mid point of the mountain, but he didn't want to pay $5 for gas. He said I could hike up the mountain for gas, and I said this is why I have AAA. So I just prayed and we made it! Yay!!

We began our trip at the bobsleds. Steve and Mika rode down a cement slide on a plastic cart that had a brake. It was crazy to see how fast those carts go, people did crash and had road burns. We even saw a dad crash into his young son. So I stayed at the bottom of the hill while they journeyed to the top.

We had a great relaxing weekend with very good company. We weren't able to go on the lake, because a majority of rental boats were sold out, but the day we went to the village it did sprinkle while we ate lunch. And the whole weekend, we had a chance of thunderstorms so we didn't want to chance it out in the water. But Big Bear was great and we hope to go up again soon!

We had to leave Big Bear on July 4th, so we didn't stay up there to see the fireworks. The ride back down wasn't as bad as going up. I was hoping to take Mika to see either the Palm Spring or Palm Desert fireworks, but unfortunately I felt sick once we got home so we stayed at home. So she didn't get to see any fireworks other than the ones neighbors were letting off. But she was excited to see the moon, haha. She loves pointing to the moon and going MOOOONNNNN!

Mika's Disneyland Adventures Pt 2

So in May we went only to Disneyland for Mika's 1st trip. Then in June, she and I went to Disney California Adventure to get out of the valley for the day. We had a great time, but her favorite part of the day was the Monster's Inc ride, I imagine she could have gone on it all day and would have been okay with that (me, not so much haha) We also got to go on the new Little Mermaid ride too!

If you don't know, Mika's favorite movie is Monster's Inc (we have to watch it atleast once a day) After we rode the Monster's Inc ride a cast member told us Sully was just around the corner taking photos. As soon as we turned the corner, Mika's eyes light up and she yells Scary (Sully) She tries to run up to him, but he has a line of admirers waiting for their turn with him. We wait in line, and as we get closer & closer, she is trying to get to him. Finally it was our turn, she was sooo excited!

Mika's Disneyland Adventures

For Mika's 2nd birthday we took our little princess to the Happiest Place on Earth, Disneyland! She overall loved it and we had a great time, she only had a melt down when we got off of Dumbo. She wasn't ready to get off that. haha

I was lucky because Steve graciously let me get an Annual Pass! Woo-hoo! Before I had Mika I had an annual pass and went often! Mika and I are trying our best to get our money's worth, by making a trip atleast once a month. So far so good!

I have to say it's been great to experience Disneyland with a new set of eyes. When it was just me, I was all about the rides. But with Mika, I have to do things that I normally wouldn't do (i.e. meet characters, watch shows, we have yet to watch a parade but plan to soon!) And since we have an AP we take our time at the parks, if we don't catch an attraction it is alright; we can do it next time.

Bad Mommy!

First off let me say, bad mommy! I am doing horrible for updates on this. I rarely go on the computer, I always use my iPhone for my internet access. So sorry! Agh! I really want to be better at this. It would probably help if I had a laptop, but that is something I don't have at the moment. It's hard to do this when Mika tries to steal the keyboard from me to type this but here we go!
